Description

Illus. by 12 different artists of the day, including James Montgomery Flagg, Robert Bushnell, Ben Stahl, and others. Decorations by Russell Patterson. 10x6.75", pictorial cloth, original acetate jacket printed in gilt. First Edition. NY: Greystone Press, 1951.

Signed by Ted Saucier on the front free endpaper, above which is an inscription by one of the contributors, Roscoe Oakes, correcting his cocktail recipe for a Bloodless Mary that appears on page 44 (!). Above those signatures is that of San Francisco chef/restaurateur Gordon Drysdale, who opened Bix in San Francisco (famous for their groundbreaking cocktail program when it opened).

Chipping to acetate at spine head and a couple other spots, otherwise fine in very good, scarce jacket. A fabulous and famous collection of mid-century cocktails.
